Frank Costa passed away in September 2008. He moved up to Lake Issabella in 2004 to enjoy the beautiful mountains and fishing. While there, Frank had a garden and raised chickens. Everything he touched grew and flourished. Fishing at the lake was his great pastime. There couldn't be a better day when he was fishing and had an ice cold bottle of "Bud" at his side. After a lifetime of smoking, it finally got the better of him. He went through a year of radiation and chemo, but to no avail. He finally decided that enough was enough and laid down and went to sleep. Personally, I miss him terribly. Frank and I have been friends for over 25 years. We watched our kids grow up together. Our families did so many things together, that it's had to remember it all. Countless barbecues, swimming at his pool, playing Scrabble. We went fishing together and once our families spent a week on a house boat on the Colorado River. Frank thought he'd be funny by falling overboard while I was driving the house boat. The swells were big enough where we almost couldn't find him. He didn't do that again!!! We went target shooting together. Frank blew up two guns with super hot loads. I don't know how he lived through that!! Frank and Kathy and Linda and I went to Las Vegas a good number of times. We learned about the Indian Casinos and started going there because the drive wasn't as far. Besides being my right hand man at People Movers, Frank was a master mechanic. He could fix almost anything that ever went bad on our cars. Once Frank and I bought a bus and painted it in his driveway. Then there were times when we raised over 600 quail and pheasant. One year we had about 25 video games in his garage and mine and let the local kids play on them after school.
These are just some of the rambling memories I have about Frank Costa. We had a lifetime of fun and never once did we argue with each other.
